As we all know climate change is a rapid increase of change in the earth's climate. Although it is constantly discussed, climate change is still a very complex problem to talk about. Humanity contributes tremendously to climate change and even though the solution is very visible and transparent it is still not completely solved because of our lack of unity.
“The climate crisis has already been solved. We already have the facts and solutions. All we have to do is wake up and change.” Greta Thunberg
Causes of climate change like the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation can lead to intense heat waves and melting of ice in the polar regions, those are the physical impacts and facts that we already know yet neglected.
The Impact of Its Change
Climate change affects us economically and individually. The chain reaction is widespread that even the tiniest insect can get affected. Some climate researchers and activists have called it an existential threat to civilization because it affects the economic sectors including agriculture, human health, fisheries, forestry, energy, insurance, financial services, tourism, recreation, and the whole world. Food and water security and availability are also at risk that making it a threat to the entire humanity. Because of its threat, many ways of combating and mitigating climate change are implemented namely: Reduce in carbon emissions, production of eco-friendly products, implementation of the waste hierarchy, and a lot more.
To be more specific, some of the categorized impacts are namely:
Physical Impacts (On Weather, Land, Ocean)
Tropical cyclones
Heat and Cold Wave
Flooding
Droughts
Wildfires
Oxygen depletion
Sea level rise
Wildlife and nature
Change in:
Natural biological systems
Terrestrial and wetland systems
Ocean ecosystems
Regional effects
Rising temperature
Melting and forming of ice
Change in the hydrological cycle
On humans
Effects on:
Food and water security
Health
On mental health
Migration
Conflict
Economic impact
Those examples are not the entirety but just a portion of it, but all of it greatly affects us that is why we need to wake up! and have unity to offset its impact.
