Impacts of Industrialization to the Earth's Condition

As we progress and evolve we make a change, those changes are either bad or good. Industrialization improves and strengthens our economy but worsens the earth’s condition, but between the changes made, the worse change becomes unnoticed for it is shadowed by the privilege the good change gives us. Industrialization contributes to our primary global problem, which is climate change, that is why being aware of the interconnection of industrialization and nature would give us a broader perspective of the natural environment’s condition.

What is Industrialization?

Industrialization is the period of social and economic change that transforms a human group from an agrarian society into an industrial society. It changes the way that we created everything, from food and energy to sanitation and manufacturing technologies.

Industrial Revolution

The main impacts of industrialization to the environment:

Water Pollution:

Toxins from factories, even landfills and other waste disposal areas can all end up contaminating the local water supplies that can lead to Water Pollution.

Soil Contamination:

Materials and chemicals used in the factories such as lead can leach into the soil and contaminate any crops that grow there.

Air Pollution:

Caused by the smoke and emissions generated by burning fossil fuels, the industries becomes the worst generators of air pollution.

Habitat Destruction:

Because of the society’s needs like lumber, more space, proper create roads, and mining, trees are cut down leading to destruction of nature and ecosystems.

Civilizations are evolving and technologies are improving, by making use of the knowledge we forgather these past years and utilizing the technology that we have been given access to, we could have a world where the balance is present.
